Shannon Applied Biotechnology Centre

Shannon ABC develops innovative ingredients and biological products from natural resources using novel state of the art processes to obtain lead molecules for drug development and value added food, flavour and medicinal products.

The mission of the Shannon ABC is to drive, develop and deliver valuable and integrated approaches to solving problems associated with the better utilisation of natural materials and the novel bio-resources they contain.

The Centre was established through core funding provided by Enterprise Ireland under the Applied Research Enhancement (ARE) Scheme.
